To collect the state-of the-art information about the Madhesh

To carry out research in the areas of the Madhesh region hitherto unexplored and not systematically studied

To disseminate its findings through seminars/symposia and publications (via journal/book and internet)

To carry out developmental activities for the improvement of life in the Madhesh with focus on agriculture-related initiatives, poverty alleviation and empowerment of women and welfare of children through optimum use of the economics of neighborhood

To undertake research and developmental activities (education, community health, income generation, etc.) in conjunction with His Majesty’s Government and other reputed agencies

To collect published/unpublished materials on the Madhesh

To work for human rights, peace, social justice and equity for the Madheshis in the larger context of their national life
